Esther Benjamin

Esther Benjamin, a distinguished cellist, pianist, vocalist, and educator, brings a wealth of experience and talent to our community.

Originally hailing from London, England, Ms. Benjamin spent her formative years in Huntsville, Alabama. She completed her undergraduate studies in music and mathematics before moving to Boston in 2018, where she earned a Master of Music in Cello Performance.

Ms. Benjamin’s career is marked by remarkable achievements and diverse musical experiences. She made her sold-out debut at Carnegie Hall in 2015, collaborated with renowned opera star Kathleen Battle, and participated in recording projects for major television networks like ABC and NBC.

Her teaching career began in 2016 at Oakwood University, where she served as a teacher’s assistant, and at Valley Conservatory, a leading music school in the Tennessee Valley. Her teaching repertoire includes piano, cello, and vocal students, and she has been recognized with several prestigious awards. These accolades include nominations for Who’s Who Among America’s Colleges and Universities in 2017, departmental awards from Oakwood University’s music and math departments, and consecutive wins at the Omega Psi Phi Inc. talent hunt.

Ms. Benjamin aspires to become a professor of music, driven by her passion for helping students refine their craft in a holistic and exciting manner. Her dedication to music education and performance excellence makes her a valuable addition to the HSO.
