Josue Alfaro

Josue Alfaro is a Costa Rican musician who began his musical journey through the SiNEM, a social program promoting orchestral training in his home country. He later honed his craft at the Instituto Nacional de la Música and the Universidad de Costa Rica, where he pursued studies in double bass performance and orchestral conducting.

Josue continued his academic and artistic development in the United States, earning a master’s degree from the University of Central Florida as an OPUS Scholar. He is currently advancing his training at the Yale School of Music, where he is pursuing a Master of Musical Arts (MMA).
Throughout his career, Josue has worked under the guidance of distinguished mentors, including Donald Palma, Rumano Solano, Vladislav Soyfer, Alejandro Gutiérrez, Pablo Solís, Michael Hill, Dominic Seldis, and Pierre de Maistre.

He has performed with professional ensembles across Costa Rica and the United States, including the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Costa Rica, Orquesta Sinfónica de Heredia, Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Villages Philharmonic Orchestra, Orlando Philharmonic, and the Yale Philharmonia.
