About

Experience the extraordinary sounds of chamber music in the beautiful and vibrant setting of the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, under the artistic direction of HSO Concertmaster Leonid Sigal and featuring Hartford Symphony Orchestra musicians. Concerts are presented in collaboration with the Wadsworth Atheneum’s special exhibitions and permanent collections.

Members of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra perform chamber works by American composers reflecting on the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. Join us in the galleries before the performance for a gallery talk presenting highlights from the museum’s American art collection, including important works by one of Hartford’s celebrated painters Frederic Edwin Church.

The Sunday Serenades Chamber Music Series is made possible in part by The Saunders Foundation Music Endowment at the Wadsworth Atheneum in honor of Leonid Sigal, concertmaster, Hartford Symphony Orchestra
